Welcome,

I am an entry-level Advanced Mechanical Engineer with the aim of continuing on the path of working in the advanced industry sector. My ambition is to become a professional engineer with a strong strategic mind-set which contributes to solving the engineer challenges through efficiency, sustainability and profitability.

I graduated from University of Miskolc in Hungary with an Earth Science Engineer specialization in Oil and Gas Engineering. In the first few semesters I lived an active social life; I was involved in Fraternity membership and organizing social events, which complemented my easy-going nature and sociable personality. As I continued on the path of completing my University career I became more interested in engineering subjects, in particular oil and gas, mechanical and management. I was particularly engaged in Gas Storage, Fundamental of Drilling Engineering and Materials and Mechanic Engineering.

I carried out an Internship at E-ON Gas Storage Ltd. At first, I visited all the Gas Storages in Hungary in order to gain insight, have a better understanding, and have a hands-on experience in the applied methods including gas separation, gas drying and cleaning, injection and extraction. Secondly, I participated in a Gravel Packing operation which became my Thesis “Evaluation of Well Screen Selection” at University. The thesis received an excellent grade from the external examiner, and when I came to defend it for my final exam. I analysed the acting force on the screen in order to avoid mechanical breakdown. Also, I determined the properties of the sand and followed the operation at the field.

During my studies I worked for Bosch Siemens House Appliances as a Sales Assistant where I acquired a strong customer-oriented attitude. In addition, it gave me an insight into the sales and marketing sector.

After my University studies, I was employed by Rotary Drilling Ltd. as a Service Engineer in the field. In the beginning, I had a physical and hands on role which contributed to the development of my technical skills. I particularly enjoyed that time because I could finally put into practice what I had previously studied at university and could use my knowledge in a real world scenario.

After 3 months, I became a Safety Advisor at the Rig-42. Primarily, I enforced safety regulations but I kept working with the crew as I did before in order to keep gaining technical experience, and because I enjoyed it. As far as I am concerned, that was a valuable experience in my engineering career. Overall, I attained a general knowledge about onshore drilling rigs including; pressure systems, functions of mechanical units and safety management. I realised, on the other hand, I need more in-depth mechanical knowledge in order to gain a more complex engineering approach which would enable me to have more responsibility and be capable of undertaking more complex engineering tasks, therfore I continued my studies at University of Strathyle in advanced mechanial engineering.

I have recently finished my Postgraduate taught degree course at University of Strathclyde as an Advanced Mechanical Engineer at where I focused on energy and thermodinamic systems. I have been particularly interested in pipelines stress analysis, pressurized vessels and energy systems analysis due to their complexity and versatile utilization.

I wrote my final dissertation around “Piping Code compliance Comparison” at where I analysed sustained, thermal and operation stresses.

My ambition is to contibute to solving engineer challenges with a strong strategic mind-set through efficiency, sustainability and profitability.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional question.

Regards,

Daniel
